Father or Enterprise first officer William T. Riker. Kyle served as a civilian advisor to Starfleet during the Tholian Conflict of 2353, and was also romantically involved with CMO Dr. Pulaski. Kyle visited the Enterprise in 2365 to brief Riker on his possible command of the starship Aries. A lot of bad blood existed between the two men, but thanks to a game of martial art Anbo-Jytsu, they cleared the air.
