Archaeologist assigned to the Enterprise in 2366. Aster was killed by an ancient Koinonian bomb leaving her son Jeremy orphaned. An alien lifeform took the form of Marla Aster to take care of Jeremy but was stopped by the crew of the Enterprise.

Son of dead crewmember Marla Aster. Jeremy was cared for by Worf, Wesley and Troi in 2366 when his mother died. A noncorporeal lifeform tried to lure Jeremy away in the guise of his dead mother, but was stopped by the crew's efforts.
