Picard is living on the family vineyard in France in the future. He married Beverly but later divorced.
   
Data holds the Lucasian Chair at Cambridge University and is living in Isaac Newton's old house in the future. He keeps several pet cats.
   
Future-Riker is an Admiral stationed at Starbase 247. The Enterprise is his flagship. Deanna is dead, and Riker and Worf haven't spoken since the funeral.
   
Future-Worf was a member of the Klingon council and is now the governor of the Klingon border colony H'atoria.
   
Future-Beverly keeps the Picard name and is captain of the medical ship U.S.S. Pasteur.
   
There is no Neutral Zone in the future, and the Klingons have pretty much taken over the Romulan Star Empire and closed all borders to Federation ships.
   
There has been a recent outbreak of Terrellian plague on Romulus. Federation medical ships have been allowed to cross the border to render aid.
   
Federation ships now have cloaking devices (see "The Pegasus").
   
Warp 13 is a standard velocity in the future.
