Marvin Rush (Director of Photography) becomes the first of three in house staffers in a row to get a turn in the director's chair. He started out on the original "WRKP in Cincinnati" as a camera operator, before moving to low budget films and comedies ("Dear John", "Frank's Place".)
	Rush faced a difficult job of having to camouflage a heavily pregnant Gates McFadden in this episode (she was seven months pregnant at the time).
	Robert Harper plays the speaking role of Lathal Bine, Beta moon's representative, although he goes uncredited.
	The shuttle Hawking (named for Stephen Hawking) is the original full scale set.
	Gates gave birth to James Cleveland McFadden-Talbot during the shows' hiatus on June 10 in Los Angeles.
