Captain of a mercenary starship, Baran was noted for his ruthless tactics and lethal punishments. In 2370, Baran was hired by members of the Vulcan isolationist movement to retrieve fragments of the fabled Stone of Gol. He was killed before the various fragments could be assembled and the true nature of the Stone could be revealed.

Mercenary among the band who kidnapped Will Riker from Barradas III. She later rebelled against group leader Arctus Baran, despite his possessing the controller for her neural implant, and was killed on Vulcan by the activation of a psychic resonator.

   
 NARIK

SPECIES: Unknown Male

Chief engineer on Arctus Baran's ship in 2370. Narik was forced to serve because of a deadly neural servo device under Baran's control. Narik was later killed with a psionic resonator on Vulcan.
 

   
 YRANAC

SPECIES: Yridian Male

Shady Yridian entrepreneur who was patronizing a watering hole on Dessica II at the time Picard was "vaporized" with phaser-fire. Yranac's eyewitness testimony seemed to prove Picard was dead.
 

   
 ADMIRAL CHEKOTE

SPECIES: Human Male

Starfleet official stationed at Starbase 227 in 2370. Chekote invoked the Prime Directive in ordering evacuation of DS9 when a Bajoran extremist faction attempted to seize the station. Chekote also gave William Riker permission to delay a previously scheduled mission and investigate Captain Picard's apparent death at planet Dessica II.

Starfleet officer stationed at ops aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise-D during the ship's encounter with Arctus Baran early in 2370.

Agent of the Vulcan Isolationist Movement who infiltrated Arctus Baran's mercenary crew in 2370. Tallera was attempting to acquire fragments of the ancient Stone of Gol, a psionic resonator.
