Behind the Scenes

In writer Patrick Barry's
original version, the planet was supposed to be heavily
divided by apartheid. When Riker and his all-female away
team beam down, he tries to stop the leader "Victoria"
from striking him, and is told he will face instant
execution. Tasha is forced to stun him to prevent the
execution, and he is later carted off to prison. Picard,
who was originally the only one to come down with the
disease, is forced to side with the aliens against Riker
in order to save him from certain death (source - Star
Trek - The Next Generation Companion.) |
