Tau Cygna V is in the
deLaure belt which has heavy concentrations of hyperonic
radiation, something which is apparently deadly to humans. |
Tau Cygna V was given to
the Sheliak Corporate by the Treaty of Armens under
Section 133 Paragraph 77. |
The human
colonists on Tau Cygna V were originally destined for
Septimus Minor but their colony ship, the Artemis, had a
guidance system failure, stranding the 92 crew members on
Tau Cygna V. They have been there for at least ninety
years. |
The human
population has grown from 92 original colonists to 15,253. |
The Sheliak
are an intelligent, non-humanoid lifeform, classified as
type R3 by the Federation. |
The Grizella
have a long hibernation cycle which lasts at least six
months. |
Hyperonic
radiation causes phaser beams to randomise thus preventing
an accurate lock. Data is able to use his neural
subprocessor to continuously relocate the beam. |
Data is a
skilled violinist, being able to reproduce exactly the
styles of Yasha Heifitz and Trenta Bron'Ken. |

O'Brien plays
the cello in the Enterprise's string quartet. |
Milan's work
in radiation sensitivity suggests that humans can become
immune to Hyperonic Radiation with virotherapy. |

The Treaty of
Armens is a 500,000 word document between the Federation
and the Sheliak. The Sheliak demanded that the treaty be
so complex due to their distrust of the Federation
language's accuracy. Under Paragraph 563 Subparagraph 9,
the Federation are entitled to face to face consultation
with the Sheliak. Under Section 501 paragraph 716,
subparagraph 5, unwanted lifeforms inhabiting H class
worlds may be removed at the discretion of the Sheliak
corporate. |
