The Black Cluster was formed from collapsed protostars 9 billion years ago, and is one of the most ancient formations in the galaxy, as well as being a huge gravitational obstacle.
	Starbase 514 is nearby the Black Cluster, and lost contact with the science ship S.S. Vico.
