Behind the Scenes
The original concept for
the show was known as "Core Dump" and featured Data
undergoing a split-personality phase where he is almost
torn apart. |
W. Morgan Sheppard later
played a Klingon in Star Trek VI and Qatai in spinoff
Voyager's fifth season "Bliss". |
Suzie Plakson,
the first speaking Vulcan Starfleet Officer, would later
go onto play K'Ehyler in "The
Emissary" and "Reunion",
and future into the future, played the female Andorian in
prequel Enterprise's "Cease Fire". |
Tormé
later revealed he had wanted a relationship between Selar
and Worf. |
Dr Selar got
mentions in subsequent episodes "Tapestry",
"Suspicions",
"Sub
Rosa" and "Genesis". |
Data's lack of
ego was to be centre of this episode, but the scenes ended
up on the cutting room floor. Data's impersonation of
Riker's beard was also set to take the next step when he
went bald to emulate Picard, but the scene was also axed. |
